Re: “Unfortunately, she's on that long path toward a surgical solution.”My wife had an MRI on her left shoulder on Monday and an appointment with the orthopedist today to discuss findings. It's a pretty messed up shoulder with 3 or 4 problems - a tendon that needs to be tied down, a bone spur that has to be shaved off, and I don't remember what else. I'll tell you folks more in a few hours when I get the recap.

Surgery will be in two weeks, the 28th. It's arthroscopic so she'll probably be home the same day. That's the end of the good news. Recovery will take six months. She won't be allowed to use the arm for six weeks. That'll drive her nuts - she's a leftie.

It was supposed to last 6 months but one month later, her shoulder pain returned, as bad as before. The problem is, cortizone isn't something they should put in you more than a couple of times per year. Unfortunately, she's on that long path toward a surgical solution. I hear though that shoulder surgery has a lower success rate than knee surgery...
