De,
My best wishes for successful surgical outcome..
Had that same type of shoulder surgery long time ago and had a ton of arthritic bone spurs just shredding the rotator cuff muscles everytime I moved my shoulder.
Lot of grinding done on those spurs and time spent sewing back together the hamburger looking rotator cuff.
She is going to be in a lot of pain.. Trust me.. When she tries to come out of the arm/sling support the first time it will be very unpleasant. I came home from that surgery with a long tube inserted into my shoulder and attached to a pain medicine ball that pumped numbing liquid solutions into the surgical repair area.
Doc said I would know when it ran out and immediately start taking the 7.5 mg strength of the percocet he sent me home with..
She will likely be in that same boat. That is very painful operation.. And I was told six months also.. Afrward, I was cleared to play golf again..
Tore it again and had the same operation one year to the day of first one.. I waited about a year and a half to play golf again..
I can feel her pain already..
Let her know I will add her to my daily prayer list. I know she has got to be hurting..
I have a small victory going on now that is good. I can actually for first time since surgery actually feel my shin bone and calf on right leg and my right foot...
Not completely but maybe about half of normal.. This is first time for me to have some control over my right leg and foot this year.. I can actually now operate the gas pedal and brake of my car with feeling in my foot and leg.. Praise God !!
I am not sure but belive this may indicate that perhaps the DVT clot in my right leg may be starting to open up a little.... That is what the docs attribute the numbness to is a lack of blood flow and hence, oxygen not getting in fully to the muscles and tissues.. It's like your leg and foot are asleep/ No control over either..
So I was able to go drive and feel the pedals this morning... Hooray for little things !!!!
