‘This is a joke, right?’ ABC News puts ‘Pravda-level spin’ on Biden unity poll

http://twitchy.com/dougp-3137/2021/05/03/this-is-a-joke-right-abc-news-puts-pravda-level-spin-on-biden-unity-poll/

As you know, before the election, Joe Biden promised to be the “unity” candidate who would bring Americans together on a variety of issues. How has that worked out since the day Biden entered the White House? Check out how ABC News framed a new poll:

ABC News ~ 23% of Americans think the country has become more united since Pres. Biden took office, according to a new @ABC News/Ipsos poll. Among this group, an overwhelming 87% give Biden credit.

LOL. Seriously? There’s some serious spin gymnastics in that headline.

Yeah, ABC ... did anyone ... ANYONE ... proofread that before you published it???!!! ROTFLMAO!

Homer ~ So, 87% of the 23% that say the country is more united? LOL!

Jon Gabriel ~ Odd way to say that 20% of Americans think Biden made the country more united.

I'll say!

John Hornbuckle ~ If my math is right, this means that 20% of Americans think the country is more United and that President Biden gets credit for it.

Meaning that 80% of Americans DON’T think this.

The president has a long road ahead.

If this was about a Republican, you just know the framing would have been very different:

Yeah ... SNORT! ... that's for sure!

Fuzzy Chimp ~ “77% of Americans do not think the country has become more United since Pres. Biden took office.”

Yes, that is the undeniably truthful headline, right there, but the progs at ABC found it to be too inconvenient, don'tcha know.

The Partyman ~ In other words, even ~25% of Democrats do not think Biden has made the country more united.

Nick Searcy, INTERNATIONAL FILM & TELEVISION STAR ~ Of the only 23% of Americans who like Biden, 87% of those 23% actually like Biden. Thanks, @ABC!

The poll also sampled more Democrats than Republicans, but we’re used to that.

OH, DAMN ... that makes it even worse for Gropey Joe! BWHA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Joe Vols ~ Some Pravda level spin here.

Damn skippy!

Bonchie ~ You are bragging about 23%?

Better yet - 87% of 23% of over-sampled Democrats. ROTFLMAO!

Bequiababe2 ~ 87% of 23% is VERY low.

PERPETUAL OUTRAGE CZAR ~ So 77% of Americans think the country has become more divided because of Biden.

PaulaMae ~ 🤣🤣🤣 This is a joke, right?

Dominic Sparacio ~ So ... about 20% of those polled give Biden credit for the country becoming more united ... and that equals “overwhelming”???? @abc, you are a joke these days.

NBC News’ dizzying spin on Texas voters rejecting Critical Race Theory is ‘perfect example of how wildly biased the media can be about an issue’

Critical Race Theory proponents suffered an embarrassing and very public defeat after voters shot down a proposal to teach what NBC News characterizes as “new diversity and inclusion training requirements” in Texas’ Carroll Independent School District.

And speaking of NBC News, here’s how they framed it:

NBC News ~ Opponents of anti-racism education win big in a bitterly divided election in Southlake, Texas. Conservative candidates who opposed a school diversity plan won every local race, taking about 70% of the vote in the wealthy Dallas-Fort Worth suburb.

We’ve got a few things to unpack here. So let’s start with a simple one: what’s with this “bitterly divided” business?

David Rutz ~ 40 point victories are "bitterly divided"?

Seems like NBC News really, really wanted the election to be a close one. But why would a respected media outlet want that?

Smatt ~ Two headlines from yesterday, and just a beautiful example of the irredeemable bias in the national media.

Up first, opponents of CRT win in a 70/30 landslide. The framing? “Bitterly divided.”

Secondly, 23% think Biden has united the country. Framing? “Country optimistic.”

So odd that this sort of thing keeps happening.

Josh Barro ~ It seems like this sort of story should be written with a bit more acknowledgement that parents and voters might reasonably object to a plan that, for example, entails "microaggression" tracking in students' disciplinary files.

Josh Barro ~ The HR-industrial complex has some very bad "DEI" ideas that are rapidly gaining purchase in organizations, tying people up in useless and sometimes offensive training sessions and hyper-policing people in an essentially arbitrary way. Of course there is a backlash to this.

... ~ You’d think based on the story that it was just white suburban backlash to “diversity.”

You’d think based on the story that the opponents of Critical Race Theory are the bad guys.

Chris Loesch ~ Misleading title. It was actually the opponents of state institutionalized racism won HUGE and we discovered it really wasn’t a bitterly divided community as the vast majority voted against CRT. The people who don’t live here who caused this drama were resoundingly beaten.

John Hayward ~ If you're having trouble keeping up with the ever-shifting Orwellian language, "opponents of anti-racism education" are the people who actually oppose racism on principle; the "anti-racists" are the people who want to discriminate against others on the basis of skin color.

Melissa Chen ~ Opponents of anti-racism = opponents of teaching state-sanctioned racism.

Lyndsey Fifield ~ Critical race theory is a toxic, racist ideology. It is not anti-racist. Your desperation is showing.

It’s just shameless.

Smatt ~ There is simply no way to look at this and think the press is being a fair or neutral arbiter. None.

Jeff B., who on earth is this guy?? ~ From the headline to nearly every single framing decision, this is a perfect example of how wildly biased the media can be about an issue that should be simple. Upside-down world logic, thinking they can fool us.

If the media think they can fool us, well, the joke’s ultimately on them.

Josh Kraushaar ~ FWIW: Southlake, TX is in TX-24, one of the few Biden Republican districts from the 2020 election ... and a helluva bellwether for the culture wars to come in the coming year's elections.

Jeff B., who on earth is this guy?? ~ Critical Race Theory proponents seem to believe that all they have to do to get "their racism" into school curricula is dress it up in the magic language of "diversity plans"; like waving a wand the media will describe it as good and pure and its enemies as a bigots. Not anymore.

Nathan Wurtzel ~ Big turnout. Ignore NBCs framing, because we all know "anti-racism" is racism. Just look at the numbers.

This is what Democrats face if they don't stop the stupid within.
