Not a bad deal De.
I still use Windows media player for playing music . . .
Is there something really and truly better?

I did buy a 'middle of the road priced' speaker
set with a 'Woofer'. I think it sounds pretty good.
(Logitech is the brand of speaker.)

Zim.

This was an excellent day for garage sales. We intended to drive to Hillsboro New Hampshire, a small town that's more than an hour away that was having a townwide garage sale. But we ran into so many sales on the way that we never got more than 12 miles from home.

I wrote a lengthy post describing everything bought and somehow lost it. Rather than going through that again, I'm just going to post about a few of the items. First on the list…

I bought an Acer AXC-703G-UW51 desktop computer. $5. This is one of the small desktops that came along after 2010. I figured it was probably broken and asked the seller what was wrong with it. "Nothing," he said - and he was telling the truth. I'm currently in the middle of clearing its drive and reinstalling Windows, but I can see that the machine works.

As best I can tell, the computer was sold in 2015 for $249. One woman says Wal-mart sold it on Black Friday for $167. So, while it's no speedster, it's functional and will be perfect for what I want: A computer to keep in the barn for the purposes of playing music, managing my book library, and managing my barn inventory. For that, I'll need some music software and Office with Access. It shouldn't be a problem.

System specs:

• Celeron J1900 (2.00 GHz)
• 4 GB DDR3 500 GB HDD
• Windows 8.1 64-Bit (but I think the reinstall is going to give me Windows 10)
• Intel HD Graphics
• Intel J1900 Celeron processor
• 500GB Hard drive
• DVD-Super Multi drive
• Card reader
• Integrated LAN 10/100/1000
