We've (my wife, actually) been pulled over twice since living here. Once was for speeding, the other for crossing into the oncoming lane out of concern that a semi in a parking lot was close to sticking its nose into our lane. Both times, the officer was courteous, professional. We weren't cited either time. The first time, in fact, we got into a friendly discussion with the officer about firearms since my wife was wearing hers at the time.

This is in sharp contrast to my opinion of the California Highway Patrol, who I had an encounter with just about every year. Many were total a$$holes. Since leaving California, I have *never* been pulled over.
