I have not had any bad experiences being Blue lighted and pulling over either.

I put my hands on the top of the wheelwhere he can see them and have my License and insurance and registration papers in plain sight on the seat next to me.

I speak when spoken to and in true military fashion only say yes sir and no sir, thank you.

They have a job to do and who knows how many morons and wannabe newsmakers they have run into before.

Like De, I have not much bad to say about the boys in blue, sherriffs or state patrol boys here in Ohio.

Re: “For better or worse, from the moment you’re pulled over, you’re at the mercy of law enforcement officers who have almost absolute discretion to decide who is a threat, what constitutes resistance, and how harshly they can deal with the citizens they were appointed to “serve and protect.”
We've (my wife, actually) been pulled over twice since living here. Once was for speeding, the other for crossing into the oncoming lane out of concern that a semi in a parking lot was close to sticking its nose into our lane. Both times, the officer was courteous, professional. We weren't cited either time. The first time, in fact, we got into a friendly discussion with the officer about firearms since my wife was wearing hers at the time.

This is in sharp contrast to my opinion of the California Highway Patrol, who I had an encounter with just about every year. Many were total a$$holes. Since leaving California, I have *never* been pulled over.
