I didn't buy some of the simplistic arguments being made in the article, though. It often sounds to me like some folks are organising history to get themselves a massive payout on grounds of victimhood.
I am more impressed by the folks who encourage thrift and hard work as the best chance anyone has to make their way in life. That's very much a traditional American message. Most people celebrate success for everyone who succeeds by fair and square means. And for me, it's also a good idea to have strong support services for everyone for whom financial success is elusive - things like adult education, retraining, help finding a new job, healthcare support, income support etc.
If you try to claim a victim payout, you'll solve no problems. But you'll develop a weakened culture and new claimants.
