Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

Re: “...coulda been worse. I could get my sister in law to tell ya about her gall bladder.”
'Course it coulda been worse. And I *did* suggest skipping to Chapter 2 if you found the story boring.

Oh. I guess I'd better post Chapter 2 (it's a work in progress):

CHAPTER 2
In Which I Mowest the Lawn
It began, the morning of, with an awakening at the peal of my clock. One, Two, Three times the call. Four, Five, Six, 'ere my feet felt the oaken floor, solid and real to the touch, so unlike the brain issuing said feet their command. The sand in my sleepy eyes was like the extrusion of a fishing worm as the hook is placed. The cobwebs in my mind fell away even as a sandpiper outside began its morning trill: "Ka-ka-dee!" it called, "Ka-ka-dee!" and I knew what I must do, for the piper cries out boldly only when the grass is full, concealing it from its nemesis, the crafty coyote, bringing a bravery that otherwise might not be.

Shall I continue?
