with have those here and when they get to hooting at night they are everywhere. Yackin back and forth with each other. Heck when they start I start hooting back at them. Neighbors think Im nuts. They might be right.......

Before I moved to TX I was out one night with the dogs, and I got this weird feeling someone was behind me. I kid you not ,it was a 3 foot tall white owl.that thing was huge. I turned around and he just looked at me. A few moments later he just gracefully flew off..

I was coming in from my garden when my wife told me she'd seen this guy fly into a tree in the back yard. By the time I had my camera, he'd left the tree and taken a second roost. As I approached, he glared but didn't seem overly concerned, allowing me to take this photo from just across the street. After a few minutes, he left his perch for another deeper in the woods where I couldn't follow.

We believe it to be a Northern Barred Owl, aka a Hoot Owl.
