...when I told my electricion I wanted an overhead light in the living room he told me that ya didn't put overhead lamps in the living room. Ya lights up the living room with floor lamps. I got the overhead, put in a ceiling fan and it was one of the best things I did in this house.

Today will top out at 93°, but at least it marks the end of our hot spell. Tomorrow is only supposed to be 80°.

My wife and I are heading up to the new property with a fresh blueprint. We're supposed to note all the electrical stuff we want installed so the electrician will know what to do. I hope we don't forget anything.

We disagreed on the telephone. Do modern houses still get wired for telephone? I don't know but my wife says yes. That settles it.

I do know that modern bathrooms need power outlets next to the toilets, way down low. I know since that's how the fancy toilets at the big plumbing store were. Some of 'em used it to light up the turds and make 'em all purdy. Others use electricity to heat the water so's to keep you from sticking to the toilet when it sprays yer bum in a sneak attack during winter. Folks have been known to die that way up here - both from a quick widow-maker, or less merciful starvation.

I don't know how we ever got by without these modern conveniences.
