Re: “I add up the numbers, and the South totals 136% favoring secession.”You made some good observations, but the percentages aren't supposed to add up to 100 because they aren't 20%, 50% and 66% of the South but 20% of Southern Democrats (80% said "No"), 66% of Southern Republicans (34% said "No") and 50% of Southern Independents (50% said "No.")

As for the "44%" shown in the diagram, it means that 44% of the South favors secession. The South apparently has a very large number of Democrats since they're the only one of the three groups that opposes secession.

Something about that graphic has me a little puzzled.

I add up the numbers, and the South totals 136% favoring
secession.

And, the places where the demoncrappers favor secession the most . . . are the places where their overlords have made folks lives the most miserable.

I also fine it interesting that where the repugnicans most favor secession . . . the demoncrappers most want to not secede.
