I had forgotten the lyrics to Wax Cylinder Sonata so I do like it; but I love Endlessness. Just a matter of taste and life experience, imo.

If you were their boss, the nose ring might have to go, along with the beard and hair.

You don't remember the Ph.D'ers walking around campus looking just like Joey, and asking yourself, "could they really be that smart?"

We're not old geezers. We are experienced and wise, but they won't realize that for a few more years. Smile))

Not to be disagreeable, but I do like Endlessness the best. He chooses these songs because of their beauty when singing them. I also believe you posted his senior year solo (on piano) before as I just listened to it.

--------

IN REAL LIFE, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS:

Him: "It's not dark! What's dark about "We will meet again'?"

Me: "He means in the afterlife - because he thinks they're all going to die."

Him: "Oh. Well, yeah."

---------------

San Diego is addictive, but less so lately. They have had their share of TAN problems recently. Breaks my heart. I loved it there. One of my brothers lives very close to there.

Tell Joey he is welcome here anytime. I have two single beds in one room with private bath. One of them is going to have to make the 5/6 hr drive, but they can borrow my car and finally make it to the Las Vegas strip. I might break down and cook them a meal.
I doubt it, but I might!

If he is all that hottie blondie says he is, then I look forward to it.

----------

BTW, anyone on this board gets the same invitation.

--------

Sure, you and mrs. De kick the bucket (forgive me), and the kid has the bonfire of the year with all of those science fiction books.

You are in nowheresville, babycakes, so how can he hold down a job while tending to your property?

Maybe he'll donate everything to charity.

Gulp - don't mean to upset you.

HAVE A LOVERLY AFTERNOON, GENTS!

Re: “Tell the blonde hottie that she needs to rid herself of the nose ring.”
LOL. Good one. That'd be like me telling Joey to shave the beard and cut the hair. NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Kids that age don't listen to old geezers like me.

Thanks for the comments. I like Wax Cylinder Sonata better than anything he's ever done including Endlessness. I'm not sure why he always seems to do these dark songs... he's been that way ever since his high school days. His Senior solo then was "In Dreams" from Lord of the Rings... and it's very, very dark - though he claims otherwise. We talked about that this week.

Him: "It's not dark! What's dark about "We will meet again'?"

Me: "He means in the afterlife - because he thinks they're all going to die."

Him: "Oh. Well, yeah."

No, no tears from me. Joey being 3,000 miles away isn't so different from him being 550 miles away. Either way, we'll stay in touch via Messenger, Skype and Zoom. I do hope that whenever he finally finishes with school that he isn't addicted to San Diego. It'd be nice if he lived a LITTLE closer... if only to one day take ownership of the rather nice little house I think we're building.
