I feel yer pain De. Its even miore fun after ya ghas lived in it for forty years and want to do some major remodeling . See how far apart the thought processes are of the two people living there and wanting different things..

Ultimately, on the faucet, you put it wherever it is convenient for whoever is going to turn it on and off the most and if that means ya put it halfway between where you think you will be sitting in yer tub and where She is going to sit, then you may have reached an amicable compromise.

No matter how it goes, tell yer better half I voted for her !

Re: “If 'too short' is a problem . . . I would think that that would be a problem anywhere you put them.”
This is probably just a miscommunication. When I said she's short, I meant that knobs on the Left Side at point "A" could make her life difficult. Further back than that would make my life difficult too. it's a big tub.

But point "A" is what I thought you meant when you were talking about putting the knobs on the Left Side.

The Front Left, point "B," wouldn't be a problem for anyone. There's just a question of whether we'd want the knobs to be separated from the water tap since we don't want the tap to be at point "B." Putting the tap on the Left Side (not at the Front Left) might not even be an option. The plumber never suggested it, and he may have already put the water pipes through the floor, dictating approximately where the tap will go.

I'll bring it up with both my wife and my plumber. I should see him on Monday.

Making decisions affecting a house is quite a challenge. Everyone should experience it at least once.
