It took him about 5 minutes, with most of that time spent trying to find something that would hold the lower pipe up while the glue dried.

Yes. The plumber ripped a bit more of the sheetrock from the garage ceiling and exposed two PVC pipes that were supposed to be connected but that had pulled at least two inches apart. Apparently they were improperly glued. He re-glued them and was done. It took him about 5 minutes, with most of that time spent trying to find something that would hold the lower pipe up while the glue dried.

He advised me to wait 24 hours before using the washer again. I'll wait 48.
