Re: “3 foot is pretty significant ”
It wasn't intentional, but I definitely exaggerated the height. I don't have a current barn pic handy, but here's an old one that still shows the issue. Then, as now, a couple of boards were being used to facilitate getting onto the second floor. Two feet is probably more accurate than three.

You can see the slope. It's probably too steep for a person in a wheelchair to navigate by himself.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

3 foot is pretty significant and the slope angle of the ramp will be someting you need to strongly consider for steepness. Of course, it is going to protrude out a ways also . Ya could do 5 inch steps that are 18 inches deep and have five inch risers. That would protrude out the front 10 and a half feet. That a pretty steep slope using a ramp, like 3.5 inc drop every foot..... over 10.5 feet.
Ya may want to think on that a little.... Thumbs Up
