...it doesn't say he didn't go TO the party, and he took the ferry. The ferry may have been the final leg of his trip, but he flew on private jet before that.
...Not going for the party? That don't mean he didn't go TO the party. He just happened to be going home and the Obama party just happened to be going on whilst he was there. A wunnerful wunnerful coincidence. John likes to go to parties and hob nob with rich women. He might find a richer wife.
