Yep. It's absolutely obvious. He was lonely. I don't doubt that while he was dealing with covid so brilliantly and working all hours for his fellow New Yorkers to save their lives that he was even more lonely than usual. Do you think he was in a position to date women during this pandemic? Really?
I get that you don't like him and think he is a bully. But that doesn't make him culpable of a particular sort of criminal behaviour. Any more than the other cases in which the media have assumed guilt and been surprised when the courts thought otherwise.
I see the report and I see a lonely guy trying to find a partner in a clumsy way. But apparently he doesn't even have the right to pursue his own happiness in the US. He has to be a monk.
One day, US law will let humans behave like humans do again - with a bit of latitude. And Americans will try to understand the reasons for other people's behaviour without always assuming the worst.
But not yet, apparently.
You need laws to protect people against repugnant behaviour. Not to make being Italian illegal. And not because I am Italian and want to behave like one. I am not and I don't. But I don't want laws that restrict someone from trying to flirt with a person they fancy. Just say no if you don't want them to. That's far better than having lawyers involved in every interaction between adults judging whether someone is the right side of the puritan line. What a nightmare society you are building.
