Maybe, but deaths are declining in fL. They have halved from the recent top. The governor will be thinking he was brave and got the decision right.

He may argue that he wanted to get delta out of the way before winter sets in, when coronavirus is more deadly. And thus avoidance now only to get more deaths later would be a mistake.

In the UK we are apparently toughing it out in hopes we can reach herd immunity as fast as possible over the summer. That is, assuming it's possible.

I think folks will put up with a lot in order to get their normal lives back.
