...don't have a problem with us leaving, but once again we are abandoning the folks who helped us. I doubt it will be easy to find anymore if the situation ever arises again.

The vast majority of the American public, and I suspect a large number of our military, are glad that we're finally leaving Afghanistan. And while Trump always talked about pulling out, he never actually did, because he knew that it was going to be very messy and that his 'base' would never really understand why it was necessary. And while we'll never know, I suspect that if Trump had been reelected, he would have either canceled or delayed the agreed to pullout. I know that's only speculation on my part, but I suspect he would have caved to the pressure from the hard right to stay or to at least drag it out over a longer period of time.
