...it's a whole different culture over there. They seem to accept a violent and repressive regime as being totally normal. I don't get it. Hopefully folks here will never become as docile as that.

Christians in Afghanistan would have been killed many years ago if we hadn't shown up. We did them a favor. It's a shame we can't defend them forever, but we can't. It's pretty obvious that the Afghan people aren't willing to fight the Taliban. That's their problem and they will pay dearly. But Afghanistan is hardly unique in that respect. Many countries are like that, and we can't help them unless we want to take their sovereignty away.

We don't have the money or the will to be the world's policeman.
