Oh I agree with ya about being around kids of all ages and people in general. We never know what someone may be carrying or going through themselves and hygeine is a huge part of everything.

LOTS of hand washing with antibacteria gel around here. Anytime at store or just out and about its the first thing we do in the car where we carry several bottles of hand sanitizer for that very reason.

Common sense goes a long way.. I have high school teachers in the family so we know about being around kids as well as basically raising the grandchildren from time they were born thru elementary school.

Now one is at college and the other is beginning her senior year in high school then off to play softball at Cedarville University on athletic scholarship that is the top one the school has.. D2 school who plays half their season against D1 schools and wins.. Yep. They are a good team every year and SHE will be starting catcher as a freshman.. Coach already told us all that..

So, I will be around college kids and parents and anyone else who is at a store I am in for awhile to come..

My regimen of daily vitamins and minerals should help me keep my immune system healthy and strong.

Of course, there isn;t anything quite like being a HERMIT !!!! lol!! !!!! (jes kidding De) It does have its advantages though....

Re: “I don't have any immunity except for what GOD gives me.”
Nobody who has been around kids, schools or an office would be so foolish as to think himself immune to disease. I got sick, 3 or 4 times, every year since college. Colds, flus, bronchitis, strep and even pink eye. Then, the year before I retired, my son left for college and I started teleworking. Didn't get sick once. We moved to the mountains and stopped being around so many people. Again, no colds, flus, or anything else.

It's been 4 years since I last got sick and I know the secret to avoiding communicable diseases. It has nothing to do with being immune or any other such nonsense and everything to do with avoiding kids and people who don't wash their hands. The fact is, as you get older, you tend to develop a weaker immune system, not a stronger one.

I'm sure there's nothing that would keep you away from your grandkids. But I can tell you for a fact, you WOULD be healthier.
