P.S. Did you see anyone trying to surf the waves? I hear that some of the more daredevil surfers like to ride the waves right before a storm hits.

Sorry.
I didn't even find any of those. Not a lot of hurricane
swell in the surf either.

I did find a few shells . . . but nothing pretty enough
to even think about bringing home.

When I reached the False Cape sign I stopped and played
in the ocean. At first there wasn't much in the way
of waves . . . then a few nice ones came rolling in.

All in all it was a nice long walk (about seven miles)
on a nice sunny morning.

By the way . . . it might not be safe for me to bring
that mermaid home . . . but I'd hate to have had to
throw her back.
