Im not shutting anything down. I don't trust the government or any other organization created or made by man. This includes the religious community as well as the academic community. I am a "Doubting Thomas" Maybe a closet Missouri guy (the show me state). I have discovered over my many years that the easiest explaination is usually the correct one and that one should not blame a conspiracy for that which can be explained by stupidity. Furthermore jumping to a conclusion based on the say so of a couple of "experts" who are selling a book is suspect in itself.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

Re: “is this the way we are going to treat everyone who has a different viewpoint than the one held by somebody else, even though terror events happen all over the world ?”
I expect we could have talked this subject to death if it weren't that the discussion degenerated into insults and ad hominem attacks. As you know, I disagreed with you early last year about hydroxychloroquine. Within a few weeks, thanks largely to your posts, I came around to seeing it as a helpful treatment for those who have no or mild Covid-19 symptoms. I was persuaded by a convincing, patient and polite approach and evidence, then admitted that I was wrong. Some here claim I never do that.

Contrast that with this most recent World Trade Center conversation and I think it's understandable why ribit is shutting it down.

To put it another way, it wasn't the topic or the disagreement but that it was turning into an argument. Most of us, including you I think, would rather the board not get mean spirited.

That's my take. I don't pretend to speak for anybody else.
