I received a letter today via email from the director of a missions board.BIMI.
I have had a dear freind of mine, perhaps ten years younger, I have known over 35 years who surrenedered to be a Missionary to the people in rural South Africa.
I "employed" him his last year in the states to take care of his family if you get my meaning. His older brother and I were good friends as well. He was the Music Director at our Church and it was a fairly large Church because of growth in our area.
I just received this letter from from the Missions board announcing the death of my friend's dear wife this past Monday in the hospital in Cape town. Sudden. She went from having swollen ankles to pneumonia in a couple days and it got worse from there. Covid was not involved.
Needless to say my friend is heartbroken. He now is working with the missions board to arrange to get his wife's body brought over here to his home Church for burial as well as purchase airline tickets for himself and his kids. Missionaries are not wealthy.
Thankfully the Missions director left his contact information where all of the people who supported my friend and his family can find out how we can help financially with his expenses. ALL of the monies will go diretly to him.
Robin was here in good health a couple weeks ago. She was gone from this earth on Monday the 6th, my wife's birthday. We were celebrating it. My friend was in mourning..
His name is Jeff Demarest. His fatehr was a great missionary to Mexico. He started many Churches down there in small towns which grew to many hundreds of people attending them and finding Christ. My friend Jeff followed in his father's footsteps.
My heart is grieved from Robin's passing from this world to Heaven's Glories. I am sure Jeff is in shock.
These kind of things are reminders of what is important in this world and what is trivial.
God has impressed upon me to help my friend with his expenses. And to see if I can get to Missouri for the services and give him a big hug.
Please forgive me for majoring on the petty things. They truly are nothing in the scheme of Life...
