Yep. You is right about that. The four cylinder engines they make also have timing chains as well.

The Audi Engineer they hired away has made tremendous quality improvements to that brand..

I am having the entire driver seat fabric replaced on mine. There is a small place I have rubbed a hole into on the seat cushion getting in and out of it after 125,000 miles.
And I have managed to flatten out somewhat the seat cushioning with my lard butt. LOL!!

So th elocal upholstery shop is getting new factory replacements for me for the Seat cushion and Back and will refoam the seat for me to add thicker cushioning for me.

I will have me a brand new driver seat when its done..
Looking forward to that. Hope to put another 125,000 miles on her..

It is a sweet ride..

The 2009 Hyundai Sonata comes with a timing chain on the engine. The timing chain is an improvement over a timing belt since it will never need to be replaced. A timing belt service is one of the most expensive pieces of routine maintenance that You will have to do, and they need to be replaced every 60,000 to 100,000 miles.
