I don't know about anyone else, and I do not presume to speak for and know what anyone else is thinking, but Nemo's private texts to me were both sombering and a reality check.
It reminded me that a fairly good sized man with some strnegth and a high tolrance for pain (witness his broken vertebrae for a couple of years now) and still working on boats and cars has suddenly a serious and real life threatening health issue.
I was reminded of the 4th chapter of Proverbs and will post Some of it here below:
Proverbs 4:20
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
4:21
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
4:22
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
4:23
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
James 4: 14 says this about our lives.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
My prayer for Nemo is that GOD will look upon him from His Throne and give him peace and calmness, and strength to defeat this disease , giving HIM all the Praise and Thanks for doing that.
I watched my sister in law go through a fight with disease about ten years ago, maybe a tad longer, and it was sudden and unexpected. She accepted the fact that she would be in God's presence in a new body, free of pain, defects, suffering, and in HIS Presence for all eternity. And that is where we ALL should look forward to being. She passed from this world as her Spirit left this mortal body and she was given a new, incorruptible body as she entered into the Eastern gate of Heaven and met her Lord and Savior! She will never have felt more love than at that moment. Nobody will. She does not want to come back. Neither do all who have gone on before us. But the reality is that our friend, whom we may disagree with sometimes on some things, but still our friend, faces this possibility and the unknown is always frightening.
I am asking God to guide the doctors and give them divine wisdom from on High to treat Nemo successfully if it would please Him to do so. Alsopray for comfort and the peace of God that passes all human understanding and reason. It is far above our ability to comprehend as the patriarchs of old have testified, David perhaps being the most obvious.. But do not forget Abraham, or Noah, or Moses. God gave them all PEACE and they knew when they left this body they would see HIM.
My heart is heavy this morning for Nemo. I have wept and poured out myself to God on his behalf. I have turned him over to HIM who made him, and loves him, and gave His SON for him so that he, like everyone, could have forgiveness of our sins, and take upon ourselves HIS Righteousness and be acceptable to our heavenly father.
TO GOD be the Glory forever and ever, and may HE look kindly and favorably upon His creation, the one we call Nemo on the board.
Please forgive the length....
