I found exactly three things of interest in San Diego when I spent time there a fw decades ago.

1. The HArbor and moreso, the US NAvy there.
2. The ZOO. Definitely worth seeing.
3. The Carmel Ranch Country Club.

From what I understand the golf club is either now a thing of the past or just unkept.. It was beautiful when I spent some time there.

The Zoo is a must see attraction. Take a HArbor cruise in the evening with mrs. De. Put a jacket on as the water is chilly at night.

My wife and I took a short walk this morning through the streets of San Diego. It was five minutes to Walgreens, five more to Jack-in-the-Box, and five more back to the apartment. Crowds were extremely light.

In that time, we encountered six obviously homeless or stoned people. My favorite had to be the guy crossing toward us on a crosswalk. He was ranting, calling out "Starship to Underground!" and something about "Nissan Xterra." Every five steps, he stopped and did a full squat, pausing for at least a second before standing and continuing on his way. The first time he did this, I thought he was taking a dump in the middle of the street!

I wouldn't vouch for the guy's brain, but all those squats have got to have him in fantastic condition.
