Re: “Joey thinks he did well but there's no telling when it comes to student-run groups.”They called last night and said 'No.' Joey accepts it but is perplexed since they didn't offer an explanation. He's written to the group to ask if there's something he could have done to improve on his audition.

He does not think the decision was race based... says the fact that he's a grad student may have played a bigger role. We'll probably never know, but it's obvious that our society's increasingly anti-white male bias is going to hurt a lot of people who don't deserve it. This may just be his first exposure to that sort of thing. Then again, maybe he was just beaten out by somebody better.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Joey auditioned Sunday morning to join a student run a cappella choir similar to his old one. 85 people - a huge number - initially tried out for just a few openings. 13 were there for Sunday's callbacks.

The choir has fewer than twenty members, so it's about the size of Joey's UVA choir. It is, in his opinion, a far better choir. He said it has some 7,000 followers on youtube, while the UVA choir had just 500. This may mean that it's a better choir but could also be reflective of superior marketing or the choir's age: 26 years versus 8 for the old. It competes with other colleges, so that might be interesting.

Joey thinks he did well but there's no telling when it comes to student-run groups. They like who they like and could choose anyone - EXCEPT that they're going to want to fill the slots that were vacated. A photo reveals it to be very ethnic (15 of 19) so that may be a factor for the students at this extremely "woke" university. I sincerely hope not. They also may not like it that he's a grad student.

Four guys were among the 13 callbacks and Joey is the only one asked to sing solely for Tenor. Another was asked to try for both Tenor and Bass. One was asked to sing as Tenor and Baritone. Soooooo... drumroll, please. Results later today.
