I remember Ribits posts about that. I just don't remember what YEAR. THAT could make this a little narrower search but I recall some of the things he said..

<!-- glonknip -->Two tips, actually. First:

You can insert a comment into a message by preceding your post with with <!-- then typing whatever you want the comment to include, then terminating it with -->

See above. I did that with THIS post and put in the comment "glonknip". If you add a comment to one of your posts, you'll find that your comment, unlike mine, will turn invisible when you save. But it's still there. You'll see it if you edit your post.

Second: While the above may not seem terribly useful , if you do it religiously, it's very useful. You'll then be able to do AtomicBobs searches that return results from only your own posts.

Give it a try. Search for the following string:

glonknip%invisible

Even though "invisible" is present hundreds or thousands of times on AtomicBobs, the addition of glonknip% will result in the search only finding posts where "glonknip" came before "invisible". In other words, it will return just THIS post. If you think that's because I have the actual phrase "glonknip%invisible" in the post, that's not the case. You could search for glonknip followed by post, or glonknip followed by ribit, or glonknip followed by any other word in this message and the search results would again be limited to just this message. Don't forget the percent sign, though.

If you try this with your own messages, use a nonsense word other than glonknip and put that nonsense word in as a comment to all of the posts that might be worth finding again. You'll then be able to search for things you wrote long ago and get far fewer search results that you have to wade through to find what you're seeking. This makes searching a snap.

If ribit had done this with the back surgery post he was hoping I could find, I would have been able to find it. In fact, ribit probably could have found it himself.

Let me know if you have any questions.
