Re: “how did you guys like the drive across Arkansas. What did the state look like? Did ya see the Ozarks or were ya too far south?”
Sorry to disappoint, but Arkansas looked like DARK to us. We entered well after sunset, and found a rest area about an hour later. I woke at 3:15 a.m. and continued the drive. While we took a lot of pictures, Arkansas is the only state where we took none.

One thing about Arkansas that I'll never forget is that I've never seen so many semis in my life. At one point, as I drove and my wife slept, I counted the oncoming big rigs to pass the time, starting anew whenever I saw anything smaller. The count averaged about 7, with the highest reaching 24. That's 24 approaching big rigs before seeing a single car!

I don't remember much about the terrain. We drove though Little Rock (I think that's what it was) while it was still dark. At some point, the highway split and nearly all of the big rigs vanished. I think the remainder of my time in the state was desolate. At some point the sun came up, but I don't remember anything remarkable about the state.

Here are the first two photos we took after that 'Welcome to Arkansas' video:

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
