CHICAGO, IL – After touching down in Chicago to deliver an address where President Joe Biden discussed the likes of vaccine mandates earlier in October, the president’s speech was in standard form – in that he uttered a handful of gaffes that ranged from misstating the Chicago mayor’s gender to incoherent rambling.
On October 7th, President Biden visited a Clayco Construction site in Elk Grove Village where he was introduced by Governor JB Pritzker, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi prior to him discussing COVID vaccine mandates and economic recovery.
During his address, President Biden was urging business to begin imposing their own vaccine mandate for employees prior to the federal government stepping in with their employee vaccination mandates.
This was in reference to President Biden’s September announcement that he devised a plan to compel companies with over 100 employees to mandate the vaccine or engage in weekly COVID testing for employees who aren’t vaccinated.
Said details on President Biden’s announcement to use his presidential powers to enact such a mandate are still being worked out by OSHA as of this time.
But aside from the content of President Biden’s message in Illinois, there were a handful of gaffes and odd moments during his speech that left some heads being scratched.
One such instance involved President Biden delivering a nonsensical mentioning of Senator Don Harmon, who is the president of the Illinois Senate, saying the following:
“And the Ohio Pennsylvania, the Ohio Pennsylvania – Pennsylvania, the uh, the Illinois president, uh, of the, Don Harmon.”

And there was also the bizarre moment when President Biden addressed Mayor Lori Lightfoot – who is a woman – as “Mister Mayor.”

Another instance of strange rambling during the president’s address occurred when he fumbled through trying to recount a phone conversation he’d had:
“You know, if I can digress for just a second, last night I was on the television, um television, I was on…the…telephone with a person at a emergency hospital ward in Pennsylvania.”
President Biden has become known for many things since before and after taking office, but his gaffes (which some reports have alleged could be linked to a stuttering problem) seem to take center stage whenever he’s delivering a public address.
