The Georgia Dawgs took care of business against the Kaintucky Mildcats who wuz ranked number 11. Not to be outdone, the Iowa HAwkeyes, the nations most over rated and over ranked team lost at home to a so-so Purdue football team. That should tell you something about how over rated Penn State really is. The Baylor Bears looked good against BYU who should now drop out of the top 25 rankings.
The Bearcats looked impressive against UCF, the other team in the American conference going to the BIG 12 in a couple years.
But Georgia looked solid again today against a pretty good Kentucky team. I canot see any weaknesses in this team and I suspect they would beat Alabama again should they play them again..
I am very pleased with my Alma Mater's football team the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. Coach Fickel has built a really solid team on both offense and they play hard nosed excellent defense also. Consistent like the Bulldogs of Georgia..
The Cats are not as physically BIG as the Bulldogs but their defensive backs are superior. They play great coverage.
Anyway, In my humble opinion the three teams playing the best football right now are in order, Georgia, Cincinnati, and Ohio State. The Buckeyes have found their offense and improved the defense.. The firstgame loss to a decent Oregon team was by a true freshman QB who was getting his feet wet.
I think it is safe to say they are on solid ground now.
Iowa may well not even be the third or fourth best team in the Big Ten much less their own division. Purdue just showed them that.
I have no clue what the people who vote on these rankings are thinking but it leaves a lot to be desired...
Anyway, that's it so far with more games to play yet tonight !!
