God morning De and mrs. De! You have driven quite a bit and I am sure it is a bit "frosty" where you are. Glad the trip is moving along for you and more importantly that you have been safe while driving that far..

Please don't do anything stupid on way home.. But please enjoy the scenery and touring across America.. I think your trip is something I would love to do but miz micro is not up to it. She hates to travel in a car anymore and does not like me going faster than 65 mph.

I can't hardly stand to go that slow.. So its best she drive her SUV and I drive my sedan separately..

Thanks for the updates De.

I am going to research the continental divide a little bit now that you raised that issue up.

Hopefully I will learn something..

We crossed the Rockies last night and stayed in a rest area just inside Wyoming. Overnight temps fell to 28°. Brrr. I woke before sunrise, defrosted all the ice accumulated on the windshield and continued the trip. Crossed the Continental Divide twice - once at 6,300 feet; once at 7,000 feet, the whole time going east on I-80. Pretty weird, eh? Someone explain to me how they even decide where the Continental Divide lies. I'm stumped.

We're in a hotel tonight, staying in a little town not far from Lexington Nebraska. Much more comfortable.

The return is going smoothly. We spent too much time in Reno trying to find a casino buffet. Nearly all the buffets have closed. The one we found was at the Atlantis, well off the Reno strip. It was a champagne brunch... $45. We declined. If I'm going to spend that kind of money on a champagne brunch, I'm going to see to it that I'm in no condition to drive for at least a couple of days.

Got to the hotel tonight and seem to have lost my prescription reading glasses. That's not such a bad thing. My wife lent me her cheap over-the-counter glasses (+2.25) and I find myself seeing better than I ever did with the other set. A silver lining!

G'night, guys. I'm going to read the posts I've missed and probably not post a whole lot. I feel like crashing early tonight.
