They held the funeral today for my cousin back in Michigan. My wife and I would have liked to have attended, but with all that's going on, we just couldn't make it. Our youngest son lives in Michigan and so he represented our side of the family at the funeral (my Mother's sister was my cousin's maternal grandmother). They live-streamed the funeral on Facebook so we 'attended' it vicariously. It was a large affair as he was one of 10 children and a local business owner.
And on Monday, we have to do this all over again. Three days after Tommy, my cousin, died, his paternal grandmother passed away. She was 103 years old and they'll be holding her funeral on Monday morning and it will again be live-steamed on Facebook.
Watching this funeral felt a bit weird since this will be the same church from which my wife and I will eventually be buried as it's our hometown parish.
