Then I did what I could to figure out the cause and mostly failed but did see some interesting things. I observed that replacing the “ character globally avoids the bug. Alternatively, keeping the “ but cutting the post size in half avoids the bug. But why? Beats me. It's undoubtedly something about the syntax of the SQL calls being made to the database.

The combination of using “ and ” in a large post leads to the problem and also explains why we haven't encountered it before. We don't have many posts that push AtomicBobs' code to its limit, and most of us don't often use those weird double quotes.
