Moderna and the U.S. are in a patent dispute over the company's Covid vaccine, with potential consequences for future distribution and profits.

The vaccine grew out of a four-year collaboration between Moderna and the N.I.H., the governmentâ€™s biomedical research agency.

But the company's patent application names several employees as the sole inventors of a crucial component of its coronavirus vaccine, excluding three government scientists.
