From a legal whiz in another venue:
Acquittal doesn't mean that the jury found that Rittenhouse was innocent, or that he actually did act in self-defense. It means only that they concluded that the prosecution had not proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Rittenhouse wasn't acting in self-defense. In the event that the evidence was insufficient to prove whether or not self-defense was met, then that ambiguity gets resolved in favor of the defendant.
And then the Civil suits will be following along, that punk kid will be warped forever, or some other dummy gunslinger will follow up one day...
