...if I was a national chain and was suffering huge losses due to theft I would likely close those establishments that were costing me money. The only reason I can think of not to do such a thing would be if I was a crooked national chain and was showing a lot more losses than I was actually suffering therefore getting an insurance reimbursement or a tax deduction. I might even stock inventory that I couldn't move into a high theft store.
