as an offensive lineman in high school who was small in size but very strong which meant I could shove and push guys a lot bigger than me, I have played many games in snow.. On artificial turf, the cleat length is not a factor. On real grass it can be. Usually both teams these days have plenty iof sizes of cleats to screw onto their players cleats for adjusting to field conditions..
I was fortunate enough to play on one of the most financially blessed and largest high schools in greater southwest Ohio.. We did not want for anything way back then..
Even in the dinosaur era cleats could be changed.
Michigan State squeeked out a win and I would say those two teams are very equally matched. I think Penn State would beat the Soartans on their home field if it was reversed by about same margin, a couple of points..
PArity this year is pretty close and obvious in the conference this year. The scary team is Ohio State when they are clicking and play calling is correct..
I have no idea how Michigan beat them other than poor play calling offensively and the defensive backs could not cover them for some reason..
Credit to Michigan game plan coordinators. They did their job well. Buckeyes looked unprepared and likely thought they were going to show up and win .
They just lost all hope of playing for a national title..
Ego's need to be checked at the door. It only matters what is happening on the field of play.....
It was a good day to watch it all though..
