that is the thing and the key sire as you know and stated. Getting pressure on the QB. The Bearcats do this better than most.
My brother in law who played for Ohio State in the early 70's and lives in that state up north was constantly ragging on me about how over rated the Bearcats were until I finally told him to watch the Houston game and call me when its over. The first half wasn't pretty. Second half the adjustments were made and Bearcats were chasing that Houson QB all over the backfield and sacking him.
That was happeneing every game including Notre Dame who have as big of O line beef as ya can get.
I like the Bearcats Defense especially their secondary..
The front seven do not get the attention they deserve though.
Yeah, we get Bama out of the gate . IF we hang with them through the first half we got a little chance of winning. If we don't, well, we need to start making Mack trucks into O line players like they has! lol!!!
Just proud of my alma mater and how Coach Fickel has really changed the culture and instilled pride and discipline into the football program. He is attracting better recruits as a result and it shows..
I am pretty sure we can play ball with all the big boys now , the southern power teams from Georgia and Bama will be most difficult..
Warning though: watch out for Michigan. They are BIG, they are fast, have great run game and decent passing attack. Far better than most of us knew about before THE GAME. That opened a lot of eyes.. Humbly so..
Go CATS!
