Have any of you noticed that flag lowering has become rather routine? It seems to me that, once upon a time, the flag was lowered annually or so - which is how I think it ought to be. It used to be kind of a big deal. Now the flag is down almost as often as not and I find myself asking my wife "what is it THIS time?"

I think they need to cut back on the endless tributes. Americans don't have that much respect for their politicians. Lowering the flag more isn't going to change that, honest.

Bob Dole was 98. Except for losing a Presidential election that a harder fighter probably would probably have won, what did he do again?
