...just lookin at them I can't imagine they have enough cash to afford a high priced attorney. Looks can be deceiving though. Maybe they came into a recent METH FORTUNE or something. The more they look into these two, the more they are going to learn.

I just heard a comment that this makes perfect sense. After all, all the money in the world spent on the best lawyers will not save their son from spending the rest of his life in prison, so they might was well let society pay for his defense since they're going to also be footing the bill for his room and board from now on. But they might be able to better use their money to hire lawyers who might keep themselves out of jail. I can't wait until the prosecutors start their 3-way plea bargain efforts to see who rats on who first.
