Yes, you are absolutely right.. I had a very short lived affair with a motorcycle when I was very young. I realized soon after that I was a dead person if I was in an accident with a car or truck.. Like you, the cycle became a thing of a distant past and I never allowed my kids to ride on one or own one. I know Nenmo loved his and enjoyed it very much. To each their own and I certainly would not condemn anyone who chooses to enjoy recreation and the outdoors as they choose to.
As we grow older hopefully we are driven to gain some wisdom. That of course is different than knowledge.
The PAstor of a very large nearby Church lost his dear wife only a couple months ago to cancer. He was five years younger than me. I cannot possibly imagine how much heartbreak and loneliness he has experienced and will continue to do so. We were friends.
Condolescences to the family and you guys big guy.. A horrible time of year for something like this to happen so suddenly..
