Re: “IF Trump were to ever reign in his bombastic outward displays of being a typical NewYork street bully...”
I completely understand. However, I am unwilling to use demeanor as the yardstick by which I assess Donald Trump's Presidency. By MY criteria, Trump was a great president. The fact that I wouldn't want him as a friend is irrelevant. Also, the bully's mentality may have helped him withstand the unrelenting, withering attacks on him by the Leftists and RINOs.

It's sad that Americans use Trump's personality, or anyone's for that matter, as the basis for their vote. Now, if one wants to go a bit further and say that the personality leads them to distrust the person, then that is at least rational. But in Trump's case, the man has already been President once and showed himself to be remarkably trustworthy. He did or attempted to do more of the things promised in his campaign than any President I can remember. It was astonishing to watch. Whatever else one might say about Donald Trump, he was as good as his word to the people.

IMO,

IF Trump were to ever reign in his bombastic outward displays of being a typical NewYork street bully, and adopt more of a Reaganesque demeanor, Firm, tough, but not outlandishly brash and not a street brawler, You would have something.. His policies for making America independent and a great country were excellent. His demeanor is what made him unlikeable to many..

Hopefully someone will tell him to tone it down a tad and reflect a little more on Reagan's mannerisms. Make the point without being the streetyard bully. Be firm but not a schoolyard brawler.

I despised doing business with people from around ZOO York when I was in business with the factories. I did not like their mannerisms, speech, rudeness, arrogance, etc. One can be firm without being rude and crude.

Other than that, yes, I liked many of Trump's positions for the middle class and economy of the UNtied States and was smart enough to get people with vast experience in areas he lacked to take on those aspects that needed addressed. and listened to them..

So, we could do worse. But a toned down (lose the Bronx bully tonations and demeanor) Trump would be a good if not excellent candidate as would Ron DeSantis..

I would like to see DeSantis on the ticket as VP which would last 4 years and then run for office as President and we could have him for 8 more years and counting..

In 12 years time Ribs and I could well both be gone..
But think of the effect on this ravaged nation...

God's will be done.....
