Hi De!

Here is why personality, or SELF CONTROL matters in leadership positions. You quickly lose respect of people who are not like you, do not like screamers, yellers, people who take affront at the slightest little things OR is someone who seems to be always looking for something to get upset about..
Great leaders are ones who are slow to anger, who remain calm when all hell is breaking loose around them because you can think better when you are not irate. One also does not say things they regret later and its wise thing to not do nbecause people have long memories sometimes.

This was difficult for me to learn because I was not born with that think first, and speak later after rational thought can take place type of personality..
There are a few places and situations where we sometimes do not have that luxury. Ribsa cantell ya from the POLICE side of things and then there are the wars and quick and sudden confrontations with enemy troops trying to kill you and vice versa. That's why we have Officers who are supposed to remain calm even though all hell is breaking loose around them.. People respond to calm, clearly spoken leadership better than a screamer...

I think for a President of the UNited States it is unbecoming and not a good trait to have..

That does not mean that his policies were bad or he wasn't always being attacked by left wing liars and nuts.. Grow a thicker skin. In that position you MUST..

I had to walk a plant manager of mine outside once who was becoming visibly angry and starting to get really loud like Trump has a few times.
We had a great discussion about this very thing. He had reason to be hacked off. I explained to him that he should not let an employee get under his skin like that because in spite of the employee being obstinate and not following correct procedures, the lant manager always has the final say in any situation so why let someone get under your skin when no matter what they say or do you have the last word and the final action due to your position of authority.

The manager slowly changed after that began to settle in. He remained a cool under fire plant manager after that small lesson..

I am grateful for Officers who were like that as well. Ribs prolly can tell us about Police commanders like that as well as Officers he had in the USMC.

I am not questioning Trump's thoughts or policies. Only that demeanor that would be better off if he reigned it in. He would appeal to a much broader base by simply letting the results speak for themselves. That really is my entire perspective..

Hope I explained why I think that way... Thumbs Up

Re: “IF Trump were to ever reign in his bombastic outward displays of being a typical NewYork street bully...”
I completely understand. However, I am unwilling to use demeanor as the yardstick by which I assess Donald Trump's Presidency. By MY criteria, Trump was a great president. The fact that I wouldn't want him as a friend is irrelevant. Also, the bully's mentality may have helped him withstand the unrelenting, withering attacks on him by the Leftists and RINOs.

It's sad that Americans use Trump's personality, or anyone's for that matter, as the basis for their vote. Now, if one wants to go a bit further and say that the personality leads them to distrust the person, then that is at least rational. But in Trump's case, the man has already been President once and showed himself to be remarkably trustworthy. He did or attempted to do more of the things promised in his campaign than any President I can remember. It was astonishing to watch. Whatever else one might say about Donald Trump, he was as good as his word to the people.
