Usually, we turn to CNN’s media reporter Brian Stelter to tell us what they are showing on Fox News, but on Monday night, he made it a point to tell us what they weren’t showing: the January 6 committee’s hearing. We don’t think Fox needed to air it; one tweet pretty well covers all you need to know. Apparently, a few Fox News personalities, along with Donald Trump Jr., were texting Mark Meadows to urge President Trump to get on TV and denounce what was happening at the Capitol — Trump’s tweet alone wasn’t enough.

Jeremy Barr ~ !!! — Liz Cheney, re: urging Trump Jan. 6 action: "According to the records, multiple Fox News hosts knew the president needed to act immediately. They texted Mark Meadows, and he has turned over those texts."

She reads texts from Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, and Brian Kilmeade.

Stelter notes that neither the top-ranked news network nor the up-and-coming news networks were covering it.

Brian Stelter ~ In case you're wondering if Fox News is the 1/6 committee hearing tonight, the answer is no. Neither is Newsmax. Neither is One America News.

Uh, Tater ... that would be because the January 6 demonstration at the U.S. Capitol was a great big nothingburger in comparison with the deadly, but "mostly peaceful," Democrat-approved riots of the previous summer that you studiously ignored. But, don't allow the facts to prevent you from being you, Tater.

Snarkwatcher ~ Does he think this is some kind of a diss?

He does ... 'cuz he's a mushy tater-head just like the Pffffarter libtards.

David Marcus ~ Nobody wants to watch the Democrat show trial. That ship sailed when Pelosi denied the GOP the right to choose its own members. It’s a political ad.

Marmee ~ Stelter is super mad that no one watches CNN anymore and will never be subjected to the Democrat show trial.

Yep, that's pretty much it. Nobody watches the Clown News Network, so Tater feels like he has to try to shame Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News into airing his leftist propaganda for him. Heh heh heh heh heh. Good luck with that, Tater!

Don Kedick ~ Brian doesn't tell us anything about the 1/6 hearing or why we should be watching.

Literally nothing is happening at the hearing, which is why Fox isn't covering it.

Nick ~ The ratings tomorrow will tell you that airing the Democrats' show trial doesn't draw an audience.

Ranting Monkey ~ Once again we see CNN upset Fox isn't covering the approved news.

Yep, CNN gets in a snit because they don't have approval-power over everybody else's programming - they are completely intolerant of anyone having any opinion that isn't in lock-step agreement with theirs. The people at CNN are such dutiful, goose-stepping lil' Communists.

My socks are systemically racist ~ How many times can one stomach watching a blubbering @AdamKinzinger?

Glenn Greenwald ~ It's totally amazing how they always think the cable outlet with a large audience should copy the cable outlets that nobody watches, and it somehow never occurs to them that the reason Fox has an audience and they don't is because they're all fixated on things nobody cares about.

{Cont.} Like people are sitting around on Monday night with all their concerns and difficulties, thinking: I'm dying to watch Adam Schiff and Liz Cheney drone on and on , and show off fake tears, about The Insurrectionâ„¢. I'll be surprised if 10 people under the age of 65 watch that.

{Cont.} I mean, I cover these things for a living and you couldn't pay me enough money to watch Adam Kinzinger and Adam Schiff and Liz Cheney talk about January 6.

Emilio Doménech ~ But should care*. Audience doesn’t have to be right about newsworthy stuff because of the channel they choose to watch. You as a journalist should know that.

Glenn Greenwald ~ I think that in the scope of all the problems the US and American citizens have, a likely unconstitutional Congressional hearing about what happened on January 6 - when the DOJ/FBI are already conducting the largest criminal investigation ever - is way down on the list.

We’d be interested to see more of the footage from January 6, but we don’t think the committee is showing that.

Update

C-SPAN is covering it:

CSPAN ~ Full @RepLizCheney statement on holding Mark Meadows in contempt, including texts from Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Brian Kilmeade and others:

"These text messages leave no doubt...multiple Fox News hosts knew the president needed to act immediately. They texted Mr. Meadows."
http://twitter.com/i/status/1470554323251875852

Mollie ~ "We claimed there was a conspiracy to take over the government but our evidence shows the opposite: MAGA people urged POTUS to make a statement and then .... HE DID! Jail them all!" Dems' impeachment Hoax #3 being run by a deranged Liz Cheney who makes Adam Schiff seem competent.

Anthony Abides ~ If I'm reading this right, the big takeaway from the Jan 6th committee is 99.9% of the GOP and its supporters were trying to stop the riots at the time they were going on.

RBe ~ But they’re trying to spin it into proof that they planned it.

LOL

It’s hilarious.
