...there's a local woman who was given a citation for having a crack in her driveway. The "criminal" hired a lawyer and the city promptly dissmissed the case. Further investigation revealed that the city gets 1/4 of it's total revenue from FINES for minor offenses.
...many cities also use minor traffic offenses as a revenue producer. Folks who have jobs can't or won't take time off to fight em and the rest don't have the resources to fight them, so they pay and pay and pay.
...if ya look back on all the cases where black folks were shot I believe you will find in most cases that the original contact was over a revenue producing traffic citation. It's the new tax on folks who have nothing left to tax. Dems should try staying within a budget and give up on trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip.
