I didn't chime in because it occurred to me that it comes down to the type of day. A day can be 1 365th of a revolution. It can be the period between sunrise and sunset. There's the Biblical Day (in the course of which God created, among other things, the universe, the stars, the sun, the moon, etc. God defined the day as "light." As one definition, Merriam-webster defines day as 24 hours. So, of course, these responses and others are correct . . . but also wrong.

Well, yeah.
However, for all practical purposes me and everybody I know and associate with operate on the assumption that each day has 24 hours - no more and no less. True, there is the need to periodically adjust things by a second or two . . . but NONE of those little adjustments mean anything.

Now every four years we get a February 29 . . . THAT has an effect.
