I wish that I could speak of it in the past like you did, as if it's already done. The house still has a long ways to go - including sheetrock, Siding, flooring, bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinetry, heat (partially in), the deck enclosure, stairs, lighting, plumbing, external boiler, natural gas installation. The completion date keeps moving back. I don't think it will be in the Spring. Maybe in the Summer. Maybe in the Fall!

And then my builder returns to the barn - which still needs a lot of work.

If I were to do it over, I'd put a LOT more effort into finding a place already built and would buy that instead of the empty field I did buy. Yes, it's going to be wonderful and exactly what we want when it's done, but it's been very, very expensive and is taking a long time. I'd rather sacrifice some of the "it's our dream house" quality and get something that's functionally similar for perhaps half the price.

Yes sir, I do remember. I was really only considering the very cold climate in the winter. Congrats on living in a free state.
Ohio would do better when it gets rid of Mike DeWine, a RINO egotists who nobody likes and we will be rid of soon.
He will be a one term governor who was and is a POS.

He ran as a conservative and power got to his head and likely was pressured by others to become a tyrant and first rate Mass hole.

So I am looking forward to booting his sorry arse out and telling him to go back to the family estate and disappear.


We also need to replace Senator Portman with a real bonafide conservative and we have running in a primary named Mike Gibbons. No nonsense, seasoned, down to earth Trump type conservative. Perfect.. Hope he wins the primary.

The city of COlumbus has become the Portland or Seattle of Ohio. The mayor is despicable as are the city council members. Cincinnati is not much better so I am very happy to live in a different county where we elect twonship trustees and county commisioners and they are all conservatives. We just threw out two trustees last election because they never saw a piece of empty ground they didn;t think needed an apartment building on or asphalt. We now have two conservative business people, one being a veteran, to go with the remaining and only conservative of the three trustees.

So I aadmire states that remain free and true to the concept that America was founded upon , individual freedom not to be trampled under or on by government.

Congrats also on your beautiful home you guys sacrificed to acheive and build. That was really inspiring, at least to me, to watch and observe...

I bet you cannot wait to move in!!!!!
