When you see these guys in person at practice, and I actually have, they are athletic and appear to be large. But not compared to major football powerhouses like Alabama, Georgia, and other prestigious football programs.
It was the size difference that made the difference.. Sheer physicality was demonstrated early and often on those scoring drives. I knew this game was over after Q1. Give them credit for putting up a fight to the end. Many fifth year players came back to play in this chammpionship and they acheived that goal. They just were not BIG enough to go toe to toe with the lines of Alabama and likely Georgia as well. Although Bama beat the snot out of Georgia earlier so maybe the Cats would have fared better against the Georgia linemen..
Who knows. Still proud of the guys and their accomplishemnt this season.. Hope the move to the Big 12 Conference will help them attract some bigger kids to compete on the big stage against the monsters of Bama and Georgia..
